A little about my photographic journey :

An amateur photographer, constantly learning the tricks of the trade, I started out with a Nikon Coolpix 4600 in 2005.
After a few years of operation, my interest grew. I always was interested in learning the nuances of photography.
To be able to do it better, I found this piece of equipment falling short.

However I wasn't interested in jumping the gun and upgrading to a DSLR, partly because I wanted to climb the ladder and see if my interest sustained and partly because I did not have enough dough to :)
So next came the acclaimed Panasonic FZ-35. This gave me some of my most memorable pictures.

Time flew, after about 5,000 clicks with the Panny FZ-35, it was again time to move on.
The best thing happening in the Nikon world at that time was Nikon D7000 DSLR.
So that is what I am with right now.
Will leave you with a few of my pics now.

Birding at Ameenpur lake & Kotpally reservoir

This was my third outing with the birding group that I formed with a few people at my housing complex.

Beautiful setting at the Kotpally reservoir, but the cake was taken by the Ameenpur lake. Such beautiful birds.

Indian rock python - Bharatpur

Shot at Bharatpur bird sanctuary, I think this is the most kick-ass wildlife video that I shot.
This rock python was sun bathing with it's mouth wide open.
The moment it sensed me, it ran for it's underground home.

I had to run about 20 feet in the next two seconds to reach a comfortable point about 3 feet from his home & the rest is history.

Birding at Osman Sagar, Hyderabad

This was my second outing with the birding group that I formed with a few people at my housing complex.

This was by the lake & the birds were very far away. I felt that the 300mm did not do justice to the beautiful birds :(

Birding at Botanical gardens, Hyderabad

All my earlier photo expeditions were solitary.
Not this time. This was the simplest & closest location to home.
We formed a small photo group having common interests in birding.
The results were magnificent.
Last time that I went to the same location, I could not spot half as many as this time.
While birding, the golden rule is :
The more the eyes - the better.

Concert Photographs - Ticket to Bollywood

Moscow, generally isn't a place really for the home-bred Indians.
But this event in Moscow did really bring me alive & how!

On a chilly winter evening, in a far away place from home..
The heart longed for some good ol' desi kick!

Called 'Ticket to Bollywood', it was  a mashup of Bollywood songs coupled with very well done dances.
It was one wonderful evening!

Barbecue at Malahovka, Russia

Pictures from a nice, relaxed weekend sojourn to a small Russian region near Moscow called Malahovka.
Nothing much to do, I bicycled a few kilometres to remind myself of my school days.
Barbecued and had good grilled food.
Then met a couple of cats who were more than willing to make my day.

Ranthambhore National Park, Rajasthan

Pictures from a very eventful trip to Ranthambhore, Rajasthan.
Varied wildlife & the picturesque terrain will leave you spellbound.

Birds, butterflies & nature

Ventured out alone to Botanical gardens, Kondapur, Hyderabad.
It was serene and peaceful.
Managed to capture a few shots of nature.
Got to see green bee eater in various moods.
Just while making the exit, got close to a squirrel who did not mind being clicked. Unfortunately, it was behind a lot of grass and I could not manage many good shots.

Prosumer/Bridge camera photography

My photography with the Panasonic FZ-35.

This turned out to be one amazing camera!
Most of my 'more than decent' pictures were captured with this.
I would recommend anyone pursuing photography to lay their hands on this one, to test the waters.
If you still feel like swimming, this is the field for you! :)
